Interest in locking up new US import HDG providers remains strong

There is still quite a bit of activity within the US import hot dipped galvanized and Galvalume markets, according to traders, but this is less about traders placing large-volume orders and is more about them locking up potential offshore providers for the future.  “No one is any dire need for steel right now,” according to a Texas-based source. “There is always a lot of rubber necking that takes place after trade suits are filed, but there is still so much backlog that’s clogging up the ports, no one seems to be in any great rush to run out and place big orders.”   Brazil, however, continues to me making strong plays for specialty-grade bookings, and continues to be a strong player within the US import Galvalume market.
