Influenced by the increases seen in import tax rates, HDG sales have shown some recovery in the Turkish domestic market. However, financial problems have continued to be experienced in the market. 0.5 mm 100 gr/m² zinc coated HDG prices have been in the range of $800-850/mt in the local market, while rolling mills have been offering much more reasonable prices for high tonnages and cash payments.
On the import side, it is heard that most recent offers given from Romania for over-rolled HDG have stood at $720/mt CFR Turkey. As regards the import market in Turkey, mills in Europe and Egypt may be said to enjoy greater advantages, due to the latest import tax adjustment.
