According to market sources, discounts on hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices in the local Turkish market have failed to attract interest from buyers and demand has remained weak over the past week. Some market sources state that, although sales in Turkey's Marmara region are better than in the Iskenderun region, Turkish producers are not satisfied with transaction volumes. HDG offers from an Italian producer to Turkey are still at $460/mt CFR, continuing to put pressure on Turkish producers' local prices. Additionally, today, January 28, a German producer has suddenly reduced its HDG offers to Turkey to €420/mt ($479/mt) CIF Diliskelesi Port, and this price level is considered to be on the low side compared to local Turkish market prices.
In the Turkish domestic market, HDG sales prices have remained unchanged over the past week and are currently as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) |
HDG 0.50 mm 100gr/m² | 715-755 |
HDG 1 mm 100gr/m² | 665-705 |
HDG 2 mm 100gr/m² | 650-675 |
The above prices, which may differ depending on product quality, are ex-works, exclude VAT, and are for advance payments.
Meanwhile, ex-Turkey HDG offers have also remained stable over the past week in the range of $700-730/mt FOB for shipments in February and March.
