HRC exports increase in Brazil

Brazil exported 120,000 mt of HRC in March, 18 percent more than in February, reflecting a 142 percent increase of exports by CSN to 54,700mt, while exports by ArcelorMittal Tubarao declined by 18 percent to 60,400 mt and Usiminas exported 3,000 mt.
 
The average FOB price of $520/mt was stable from February, pointing to ArcelorMittal Tubarao exporting at $502/mt, CSN at $524/mt and Usiminas at $838/mt, all FOB conditions.
 
The main destinations of the Brazilian HRC in March were the EU (54,200 mt), South America (40,900 mt) and Asia (24,400 mt).
 
According to a local exporter, the most recent HRC export deals are being closed at $525/mt, FOB conditions for the product of the basic commercial grades.
