A source from a Brazilian exporter told SteelOrbis that $800/mt, FOB conditions, remains as the base price for the negotiation of Galvalume exports. But he added that it is becoming increasingly difficult to close deals at that price level, raising speculation of a potential price decrease in the coming weeks.

“The producers must follow the international prices to maintain competitiveness,” he said.

In April, Brazil exported Galvalume to Latin American Countries (5,300 mt at $821/mt, of which 4,700 mt to Argentina) and to the US (3,500 mt at $836/mt), both FOB conditions with price deals probably closed in February.
