In the Iranian market, while domestic producers have increased their prices, local stockists have decreased theirs by $20-25/mt on average as compared to last month. On the other hand, also compared with last month, CIS origin flats offers have indicated a rise of $30-40/mt on average.

As of this week, it is said that CIS mills have filled their order books for September production and so are not giving offers. Meanwhile, it is thought that the price increases of both domestic and foreign producers will not gain acceptance in the Iranian market through the month of Ramadan. The decrease in stockists' prices just as producers' raise their prices has caused expectations of a market uptrend to be deferred until October.
