SteelOrbis has learned that demand is still weak in the Portuguese flat steel market. However, it is reported that flat steel inventories are also low in the country.

In the Portuguese flat steel market, prices of hot rolled sheet (HRS) are currently standing at €600-610/mt ($792-805/mt) ex-warehouse, remaining unchanged as compared to last month, while Italian producers' hot rolled coil (HRC) offers to Portugal are at the base price level of €530-540/mt ($700-713/mt) CPT.

In the meantime, Portuguese producer Lusosider's domestic offers for hot dip galvanized (HDG) coil are at the level of €630-640/mt ($832-845/mt) ex-works, down from €650/mt ($858/mt).

The Portuguese flat steel market is witnessing only limited stock replenishments at the moment.
