Ex-China offers on flat steel products to Chile trend up

On June 19, SteelOrbis reported Chinese flat steel offers to Chile for HRC at $465-480/mt CFR, CRC at $490-500/mt CFR, and HDG at $565-585/mt CFR.

According to sources, import prices on flat steel products to Chile have moved up as the Chinese domestic market has encountered a rebound and export prices are trending up. The latest reported offer prices to Chile are HRC at $475-485/mt CFR, CRC at $505-515/mt CFR, and HDG at $580-590/mt CFR. Through the week, HRC offers increased by $10/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $5/mt from the top of the same range. CRC offers increased $15/mt across the board while HDG increased $15/mt from the bottom of the previous range and $5/mt from the top of the same range.

Additionally, heavy plate offer prices have also increased $5/mt over the past week and are reported at $470-480/mt CFR.

A source noted that flat steel product offers from China in Colombia and Brazil are on the higher end of the above ranges, with some offers up to $5/mt more than the upper end of the ranges heard in Chile.
