During the week ending June 15, in the Chinese domestic market average cold rolled coil (CRC) and cold rolled sheet (CRS) prices have increased, while transaction activity in the overall market has indicated some improvement though it is still at low levels. Average cold rolled product prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, against the backdrop of increases in HRC prices in the Chinese domestic market due to support from the HRC futures market, domestic CRC prices have also indicated rises, while transaction activity for cold rolled products at low prices has improved, though activity for products at higher prices has been slack. However, demand is expected to remain sluggish in the traditional hot summer offseason and the coming rainy season. It is expected that CRC prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely move sideways in the coming week.
