Demand in the Turkish domestic cold rolled coil (CRC) spot market has started to recover, increasing slightly since last week. The appreciation of the Turkish lira against the US dollar following the March 30 municipal elections in Turkey has been viewed as a positive factor in the market, while increases in hot rolled coil (HRC) prices have contributed to the slight increase in CRC demand. Market players say that, if the uptrend in HRC prices continues, an increase is expected in both demand and CRC prices.
Meanwhile, Turkish producers' offers for CRC can still be found in the range of $680-690/mt ex-works, indicating no changes as compared to last week.
Spot CRC prices are as follows:
Product | Price ($/mt) | |
Eregli | Gebze | |
0.6 mm CRC | 720-730 | 725-740 |
0.7-2 mm CRC | 680-695 | 690-700 |
The offers are on ex-warehouse basis and exclude 18 percent VAT.
