CRC import price offers stable in Brazil

CRC imports in Brazil are negotiated in average at $880/mt, CFR conditions, stable from two weeks ago, according to sources.

In September, Brazil exported 7,400 mt and imported 65,400 mt of CRC, against respectively 1,700 mt and 37,900 mt in August.

The exports were destined to the US (4,800 mt at $815/mt), Argentina (2,400 mt at $1,292/mt) and Pakistan (200 mt at $346/mt), FOB conditions, the latter certainly not a market price.

The exporters were Usiminas (7,200 mt at $948/mt) and ArcelorMittal (200 mt at $1,234/mt).

The imports were almost entirely from Asia (64,400 mt, of which 62,800 mt from China at $705/mt), while 1,000 mt were imported from Europe.

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 6,200/mt ($1,225/mt), stable from two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
