CRC import price offers decline in Brazil

CRC imports in Brazil are negotiated in average at $980/mt, CFR conditions, against $1,020/mt three weeks ago, according to sources.

In April, Brazil exported 5,200 mt of CRC, while importing 14,700 mt of the product, against respectively 15,200 mt and 13,400 mt in March.

The destinations of the exports in April were the US (3,100 mt at $886/mt) and Argentina (2,100 mt at $1,360/mt), FOB conditions, while the exporters were CSN (3,100 mt), Usiminas (1,900 mt) and ArcelorMittal (200 mt).

The origins of the imports were China (8,500 mt at $666/mt), South Korea (4,500 mt at $719/mt), and Sweden (1,700 mt at $1,298/mt), also FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, CRC of the basic commercial grades is now offered in medium to large volumes by the producers at BRL 6,350/mt ($1,291/mt), against BRL 6,500/mt three weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
