Flats re-rolling companies in Turkey have been signalling improved demand in the domestic market lately, which has allowed them to become a little bullish. The livelier sales, coupled with firm scrap and hot rolled coil (HRC) prices, have triggered an increase in offers for cold rolled coil (CRC) and coated steel in Turkey. Still, the domestic side of the market, improved but so not bright, is still doing better than the overall export segment.
Currently, most local suppliers are offering HDG at $840-860/mt ex-works on average, with $10-20/mt higher indications also voiced in the market. However, according to sources, the latest sales have been at $800-820/mt ex-works, though still marking $20/mt higher workable levels than a week ago. In the PPGI market, the offer range is at $930-960/mt ex-works, up $30/mt, while once again higher indications are also heard. Turkey’s tinplate offers are at $880-820/mt ex-works still, depending on the order size.
In the CRC segment, most offers have been reported at $750-770/mt ex-works, up from around $730-750/mt ex-works a week ago. The workable levels are still evaluated at $10-20/mt lower than the official offers, SteelOrbis understands.
