During the week ending April 30, Chinese export offers of flat steel products have followed a stable trend. At present, boron-added hot rolled coil (HRC) export offers given by Chinese suppliers are at $365-375/mt FOB, with actual transaction prices in the range of $360-365/mt, while cold rolled coil (CRC) export offers given by Chinese suppliers are at $415-435/mt FOB.

During the given week, overseas buyers have mostly been maintaining a wait-and-see stance as regards purchases of Chinese flat steel products, resulting in slack transaction activity. However, the recent uptrend seen in iron ore prices has provided a certain degree of support for export offer prices of flat steel from China. It is expected that Chinese flat steel product export prices will continue to follow a stable trend in the coming week.
