In the given week, steel plate prices in China first increased and then switched to a declining trend, while average domestic steel plate prices are up slightly on week-on-week basis. Ferrous metal futures prices in China have indicated downward corrections, exerting negative pressure on steel plate prices in the spot market. Amid the slack season for business, demand for steel plate is unlikely to improve significantly, especially given the current cold winter weather conditions. It is thought that Chinese domestic steel plate offers will move sideways in the coming week.
