During the week ending April 20, average Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have continued to decrease, while overall transaction activity in the market has been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, amid the overall downward movement of flat steel product prices in China, domestic HDG prices have continued to decline. Meanwhile, negative sentiment prevails in the HDG market and most players are maintaining a wait-and-see stance, resulting in slacker transaction activity. As for the coming week, liquidity is expected to be tighter approaching the end of the month, while it is thought that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely edge down further.
