During the week ending April 6, average Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have again indicated a soft trend, while overall transaction activity in the market have been at low-to-medium levels. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market are presented in the following table.
During the given week, hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices in the Chinese domestic market have indicated a soft trend. Overall inventories of hot dip galvanized (HDG) are still at relatively high levels and continue to exert negative pressure on prices in the spot market. With a rebound seen lately in the ferrous metal futures market in China, it is expected that hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices will stabilize after the significant decreases observed in late March. It is expected that HDG prices in the Chinese domestic market will likely edge down slightly or move sideways in the coming week.
