An export deal for Brazilian slab was closed at $750/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial deals, for shipment in July, sources told SteelOrbis.

A previous such deal was closed earlier in this week at $815/mt, already frustrating producers’ expectations of reaching $820/mt, while the last deal for shipment in June was closed at $845/mt, all FOB.

The scenario surrounding the negotiations remains dictated by low margins between the prices of slab and HRC.

In April, Brazil exported 505,200 mt of slab, in average at $710/mt FOB, with price deals probably closed in February.
