According to sources, Brazilian slab exporters have closed deals for shipments in September at $595/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.

The new reference compares to $600/mt one week ago, when clients in the US were reluctant to close deals at that level due to fluctuating HRC prices in the country. It is not clear if all the export sales of Brazilian slab producers for shipments in September were concluded.

Preliminary numbers for July remain pointing to lower exports and higher imports in volume, when compared respectively to 790,400 mt and 36,500 mt in June.
