Brazilian HRC export price stable from two weeks ago

The Brazilian producers remain negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $950/mt, stable two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.

In May, Brazil exported 9,900 mt and imported 11,500 mt of HRC, against respectively 22,300 mt and 25,700 mt in April.

In May, all the exports were destined to South American countries. The exporters were ArcelorMittal (7,000 mt at $700/mt), Gerdau (2,700 mt at $658/mt) and Usiminas (200 mt at $1,371/mt), all FOB conditions.

The imports were from South Korea (6,800 mt at $649/mt) and China (4,700 mt at $531/mt) also FOB conditions.

In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is sold, in medium to high volumes by steel producers, at BRL 5,970/mt ($1,228/mt), stable from two weeks ago, ex-works, no taxes included.
