The base price for the negotiation of slab exports from Brazil is now in the $390/mt to $410/mt range, FOB conditions, two different sources told SteelOrbis.

The prices compare with a range of $380/mt to $390/mt FOB two weeks ago, in an uptrend reflecting increased international prices. There were also reports of a sale at $420/mt FOB, but details on sales conditions or extras included could not be confirmed.

In November, CSP exported slab at an average price of $315/mt, ArcelorMittal Tubarao at $330/mt and ThyssenKrupp CSA at $352/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in September.

Asia was the top destination (134,400 mt), followed by the US (121,200 mt), the EU (90,700 mt), Mexico (40,700 mt), Turkey (30,900 mt) and Canada (28,100 mt).
