Brazilian CRC imports reduced in July

Brazil imported 24,800 mt of CRC in July, against 27,500 mt in June, at an average FOB price reduced by 6.5 percent to $558/mt, according to the country’s ministry of foreign trade, industry and services, MDIC.

Most of the volume came from Russia, 15,800 mt at $516/mt, while 7,300 mt was shipped from China at $611/mt and 1,500 mt came from South Korea at $696/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May.

According to a local trader, offers of CRC received from China are currently in the range of $555/mt, FOB conditions.

Brazilian imports of CRC remain pushed by the high domestic prices, currently around BRL 3,600/mt ($1,152/mt), ex-works, full taxes except IPI, having the 1008 grade as reference.
