Major Chinese steelmaker Baosteel has issued its prices for carbon steel flat products for delivery in April. The details are as follows (comparisons are with March delivery prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (HRC):
Prices of HRC produced by Baosteel's main steel production base are up by $23/mt.
2. Hot rolled pickled products:
1) Prices of products from the main steel base are up by $23/mt.
2) Products from Baosteel Group's Shanghai-based subsidiary Meishan Steel have increased by $15/mt.
3. Cold rolled (CR) products:
1) Prices of products from the main steel base are up by $23/mt.
2) Products from Meishan Steel are $7/mt lower in price than products from the main steel base.
3) Prices of BHG2 used in double-deck welded pipe in the second quarter are up by $55/mt compared to prices recorded in the first quarter.
4. Hot dip galvanized (HDG):
1) Prices of products from the main steel base are up by $31/mt.
2) Prices of HDG from Meishan Steel are up by $35/mt.
5. Electro-galvanized (EG) products:
Prices of CQ grade EG from the main steel base are up by $23/mt, while other prices are up by $31/mt.
6. Galvalume:
1) Prices of products from the main steel base are up by $23/mt.
2) Prices of products from Meishan Steel are the same as the prices of products from the main steel base.
7. Non-grain-oriented (NGO) electrical steel prices
1) Prices of B50A (H) 600 and below grades are up by $28/mt.
2) Prices of B50A (H) 540 grades are unchanged.
3) Prices of B65 grade are the same as prices of B50 grade.
4) Prices of B35 grade are unchanged.
8. Grain-oriented (GO) electrical steel prices
Prices of grain-oriented (GO) electrical steel are unchanged, while prices of B30R100 are equal to prices of B30P100.
All the above price changes are effective from March 8 and exclude 17 percent VAT
