Major Chinese steelmaker
Baosteel has issued its prices for carbon steel flat products for delivery in May. The details are as follows (comparisons are with April delivery prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (
HRC):
1) Prices of
HRC produced by
Baosteel's main steel production base remain stable.
2) Discounts of $4/mt are available for orders placed before April 24.
2. Hot rolled pickled products:
1) Prices of products from the main steel base remain stable.
2) Products from
Baosteel Group's Shanghai-based subsidiary Meishan Steel remain stable.
3) Discounts of $4/mt are available for orders placed before April 23.
3. Cold rolled (CR) products:
1) Prices of products from the main steel base remain stable.
2) Products from Meishan Steel are $8/mt lower in price than products from the main steel base.
3) Discounts of $4/mt are available for orders placed before April 22.
4. Hot dip
galvanized (HDG):
Prices of products from the main steel base and Meishan Steel remain stable.
5. Electro-
galvanized (EG) products:
1) Prices of products from the main steel base and Meishan Steel remain stable.
2) Discounts of $9/mt are available for orders placed before April 10, with discounts of $4/mt available for orders placed before April 22.
6. Galvalume:
1) Prices of products from the main steel base and Meishan Steel remain stable.
2) Discounts of $4/mt are available for orders placed before April 22.
7.
Coated products:
1) Prices of products in May-June from the main steel base and Meishan Steel are unchanged from prices for March-April.
2) Discounts of $9/mt are available for orders placed before April 15, while discounts of $4/mt are available for orders placed during April 16-22.
8. Non-grain-oriented (NGO) electrical steel prices
1) Prices of B50A (H) 540 grades are up by $11/mt, while other prices are unchanged.
9. Grain-oriented (GO) electrical steel prices
Prices of grain-oriented (GO) electrical steel are down by $48/mt.
All the above price changes are effective from April 10 and exclude 17 percent VAT
