Baosteel issues unchanged ex-factory flats prices for June

On April 27, Chinese steel giant Baosteel released its ex-factory prices for certain flat steel products for the month of June. The details are as follows:

1. Hot rolled prices have remained constant. As a result, the new price of 5.75 mm x 1,250 mm x C SS400 is still at RMB 3,292/mt ($483/mt), while that of 2.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C SPHC stands at RMB 3,592/mt ($527/mt).

2. Cold rolled prices remain at May levels. Thus, the price of 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C DC01 is at RMB 3,826/mt ($561/mt).

3. The May prices are still effective for hot rolled and pickled products, with the price of 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm x C SPHC staying at RMB 3,397/mt ($498/mt).

4. Prices of galvanized coils are unchanged.

5. The previous prices remain effective for electrical steel.

All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective from April 27, 2009.
