On February 9, SteelOrbis reported domestic flat steel prices in Argentina as increasing on higher productions costs including strong raw material prices and increased energy costs.
Domestic prices were then reported for HRC at $635-650/mt ex-works and CRC at $770-780/mt ex-works.

As of February 14, sources close to the market noted to SteelOrbis that domestic prices have risen for HRC to $665-680/mt ex-works and for CRC to $795-805/mt ex-works as the global steel market shows strength and raw material input and operational costs continue to rise. The increase in flats pricing represents an increase of $30/mt on HRC and $25/mt on CRC.  According to a source, “The increases are in line with increased import offers in the region, stronger global trend, and increased costs in producing the desired steel products.”

HDG coil prices are being reported as generally stable on the wide spectrum of $1050-1150/mt ex-works.
