Major Chinese steelmakers Liaoning province-based Anshan Iron and Steel (Ansteel) Group and Liaoning province-based Bensteel Group Corporation Ltd. (Bensteel) have issued their prices for carbon steel flat products for delivery in July this year.

Two producers have decided to hold their local base prices for hot rolled coil (HRC) stable, while also to hold the local base prices for steel plate, acid pickling plate, cold rolled coil (CRC), hot dip galvanized (HDG), electro-galvanized products, galvalume, pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI), rebar, wire rod and non-oriented silicon steel stable, all for delivery in July.

Following Chinese steelmaker Baosteel’s announcement of holding local prices for July stable, Ansteel and Bensteel’s movements signaled steelmakers’ cautiousness as regards the future prospect for the steel market in the coming month due to the expected high temperature.
