On June 19, Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Angang announced its latest ex-factory prices for flat steel products for July. The details are as follows:
1. Hot rolled prices are up RMB 150/mt ($22/mt) for common carbon products and up RMB 200/mt ($29/mt) for SPHC products. Thus, the new price of 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm Q235 is RMB 2,980/mt ($435/mt), while that of 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm SPHC is RMB 3,030/mt ($443/mt).
2. Cold rolled prices have increased RMB 350/mt ($51/mt). As a result, the price of 1.0 mm ST12 cold rolled sheet is now at RMB 4,020/mt ($588/mt).
3. Medium plate prices have risen RMB 100/mt ($15/mt), with the price of 20 mm Q235B plate thereby climbing to RMB 2,810/mt ($410/mt).
4. Heavy plate prices are up RMB 50/mt ($7/mt). Thus, the price of 80 mm Q235B heavy plate is now at RMB 2,870/mt ($419/mt).
5. Prices of galvanized coils have moved up by RMB 300/mt ($44/mt).
6. Color coated prices have jumped up by RMB 350/mt ($51/mt).
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective from June 19, 2009.
