Demand in the Turkish flat steel market has started to weaken after the conclusion of some deals at the new import price levels announced during the past two weeks. Import flat steel offers to
Turkey have either increased or followed a sideways trend as compared to their previous levels, as expected. Meanwhile, despite the price hike by Turkish mills in their domestic market, local buyers, who have concluded transactions in line with their needs and are not interested in building up their stocks, are not likely to show interest in the import offers. In the meantime, Turkish market players prefer to wait and keep a close eye on the market at the moment amid the upward price trend and the ongoing strike at Isdemir.
In the meantime, the latest flat steel import offers to
Turkey were as follows while transactions were also concluded at these levels: Russian hot rolled coil (
HRC) and cold rolled coil (
CRC) offers to
Turkey were at $520-550/mt CFR and $640-660/mt CFR respectively, while Romanian
HRC offers were standing at $560-570/mt CFR and
CRC offers were at $665-670/mt CFR. In addition, the latest Ukrainian
HRC offers to
Turkey were at $510-515, while offers for
CRC were standing at $600-605/mt CFR. Finally, Slovakian
HRC offers to
Turkey could be found at $560-565/mt CFR.
