AK Steel to increase carbon steel products by $40/nt

West Chester, Ohio-based AK Steel Holding Corp. announced Thursday that it will increase its spot prices by $40 /nt ($2.00 cwt. or $44 /mt) on all carbon steel products effective with all new orders for August and September shipments. Also, Base prices for cold rolled and coated products will increase by $50/nt ($2.50 cwt. or $55 /mt).

AK Steel produces flat rolled carbon steel primarily for the automotive, appliance and construction industries. The company is also a leading stainless and electrical steel producer.
