AK Steel raises flats prices $50/nt

West Chester, Ohio-based flat rolled steelmaker AK Steel announced Tuesday that it will increase current spot market base prices for all carbon flat-rolled steel products by $2.50 cwt. ($55/mt or $50/nt), effective immediately with new orders.

Tuesday's increase is in addition to a $2.00-$2.50 cwt. ($44-$55/mt or $40-$50/nt) increase announced on December 7 and a $2.50 cwt. increase announced in early November.
