AK Steel hikes flats prices $50/nt

West Chester, Ohio-based AK Steel announced Tuesday that it will increase current spot market base prices for all carbon flat-rolled steel products by $2.50 cwt. ($55/mt or $50/nt) effective immediately with new orders.

The increase follows a similar move last week by Indiana-based NLMK USA, and a $2.50 cwt. increase from RG Steel Monday.
