US Ohio-based AK Steel Monday advised its customers that a $350 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in September 2010. This reflects $35 per ton surcharge decrease over the $385 per ton surcharged announced in July for products shipped in August.

AK Steel's surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the July 2010 purchase cost used to determine the September 2010 surcharges.
