AK Steel announces August surcharges for electrical and stainless steels

Friday, 02 July 2010 01:38:28 (GMT+3)   |

West Chester, Ohio-based AK Steel Thursday announced that a $385 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in August 2010.  This denotes a $10 per ton decrease over the $395 surcharge announced for electrical and stainless steel products shipped during the month of July.

The company has indicated that surcharges are based on reported prices for raw materials and energy used to manufacture the products, with the June 2010 purchase cost used to determine the August 2010 surcharges.
