During the week ending December 12, Chinese domestic hot dip galvanized (HDG) prices have mainly been stable. Average HDG prices in the local Chinese market can be viewed in the SteelOrbis price reports section.

Demand and overall activity in the Chinese domestic HDG market have been sluggish in the past week. Some mills' inventories are on the low side and there are few new arrivals in the spot market. Major Chinese steelmakers Baosteel and WISCO have increased their HDG prices for January delivery by $8-16/mt, while traders have responded with caution towards the new prices and activity has remained tepid. It is expected that local Chinese HDG prices will remain stable or just indicate some minor fluctuations in the next seven days.
