Ukraine’s ferrous metals data
Ukraine's foreign trade in ferrous metals amounted to $4 billion or 495.3 million tons in January-April 2005 period. In April alone, foreign trade of ferrous metals was $1 billion or 169.4 million tons. Ukraine's cast iron exports totaled $111 million for January-April 2005 period. The exports during April were $23.1 million. The most important importers of the cast iron were Italy ($70.1 million) and the US ($10.3 million). Ferro alloy exports reached $313 million in the first four months for the year with $82.8 million recorded in April. Russia accounts for $79.9 billion of the total and the Netherlands $55.8 billion. The scrap of ferrous metal exports amounted to $35.2 million in April. Thus, the exports reached $113.4 million during the first four months. Turkey and Moldova imported $56.5 million and $34.4 billion of scrap of ferrous metal, respectively. On the import side, ferroalloys amounted to $89.9 million in the first four months and $37.5 million in April. The basic suppliers of the product were China ($38.2 billion) and Russia ($29.3 billion). The imports of direct reduced iron amounted to $47.9 million in the first four months and $15.7 million in April. Russia was the only supplier of direct reduced iron. The semi-finished products of iron and unalloyed steel amounted to $5.9 million in April and this brought the four months' imports to $27.8 million.
