Iran to export 1.8 million tons of steel by year end

Iran considers exporting 1.8 million tons of steel before the termination of current calendar year. This figure will indicate a 20% rise when compared with the last year's figure. It is reported that the sharp increase in the global steel prices is a good opportunity for Iran to increase its steel export. The country has already increased its exports to Europe due to its high demand for steel. It is also pointed out that the surge in steel exports will create no shortages in domestic market. In 2003, Iran exported over 1.6 million tons of steel.
