ZapSib begins slab casting from new grades of steel

West-Siberian Steel Works (ZapSib), a subsidiary of the Russian steel and iron ore producer Evraz Group, has started continuous slab casting from new grades of steel i.e. from S35J2G3, CG145, 7112K, and others.

The slabs produced by ZapSib from these grades of steel will be destined for export, and will be used in the production of thin and galvanized sheets, and in the manufacturing of strips for welded pipes.

The new grades of steel belong to the low-, medium-carbon and alloyed groups of steel.
