Jiangsu Province-based Chinese steel producer Yonggang Group has lately been granted certification by the UK Certification Authority for Reinforcing Steels (CARES) for its British Standard rebar. As a result, Yonggang's rebar will have free access to the European Union market, while the reputation of its products in the international market will be boosted.
Yonggang Group initiated its application for CARES certification for the rebar in question in March this year. The products concerned are 10-40 mm diameter reinforced bar and 6-12 mm diameter deformed bar, of steel grade 460B according to BS 4449-1997 and of steel grade B500B according to BS 4449-2005.
