Chinese steelmaker Hebei Iron and Steel Group has announced that in January this year its subsidiary Xuanhua Steel supplied 70,000 mt of earthquake-resistant HRB 400E rebar to buyers in Fujian Province, earning a profit of RMB 5 million ($795,000).

Xuanhua Steel has thus taken advantage of the strongly improved demand for earthquake-resistant reinforcing bars in Fujian Province, while also availing of the favorable prices for rebar in this southern Chinese province in the winter.
