Xinyu Steel posts 10.29 percent fall in operating revenue for H1

On August 30, Jiangxi Province-based Chinese steelmaker Xinyu Iron and Steel Co. announced its results for the first half of the current year.

Accordingly, in the period in question Xinyu Steel recorded an operating revenue of RMB 17.897 billion ($2.8 billion), down 10.29 percent compared to the same period last year, while its overall net loss for the period was RMB 527.3926 million ($83.18 million).

Xinyu Steel also stated that in the first six months this year its pig iron output was 4.46 million mt, up 2.29 percent, its crude steel output was 4.22 million mt, down 5.38 percent, while its semi-finished steel output amounted to 3.9546 million mt, down 9.3 percent, all year on year, accounting respectively for 49.28 percent, 46.89 percent and 46.80 percent of the annual output targets.
