Wuhan Steel decreases prices for November

China’s Wuhan Steel announced an ex-works price decrease for its November deliveries effective from October 10, 2005. Based on its October prices, HR prices (apart from intensified welding steel and boiler plate) of the company dropped by RMB 400/ton ($49) to RMB 3’170/ton ($392) for 2.75 mm Q235 and to RMB 3’020/ton ($373) for 5.5 mm Q235. Prices for sheet products, carbon structural steel, carbon quality steel, shipbuilding plate and low alloy steel slid by RMB 450/ton ($56); construction angle steel by RMB 350/ton ($43); girder steel (excluding 14MnNbq) by RMB 350/ton ($43). The new price of 8 mm and thicker Q235 is RMB 3’430/ton ($424), while 14 mm and thicker Q235 is RMB 3’130/ton ($387). Cold rolled prices fell by RMB 450/ton ($56) to RMB 4’590/ton ($568) for 1.0 mm Q195 and to RMB 4’540/ton ($561) for 1.0 mm Q195. The price of galvanized products thinner than 0.7 mm is down RMB 300/ton ($37), while thicker varieties are down RMB 200/ton ($25). The new price of 1.0 mm WLZn [150g/m2](JY) is RMB 4’833/ton ($598). The price of 0.35 mm and thicker color coated coil dropped RMB 200/ton ($25). The new price of 1.0 mm WLC (2/2) is RMB 5’567/ton ($688). Tin products prices fell by RMB 200/ton ($25) to RMB 7’527/ton ($931) for 0.22 mm E2.8/2.8. Non-oriented silicon steel prices fell RMB 500/ton ($62) to 5’732/ton ($709) for 50WW600. Prices of other specifications decreased RMB 300/ton ($37). Regarding wire rods, the price of WSWRH82B is down RMB 150/ton ($19), bringing the new 6.5 mm WSWRH82B wire rod price to RMB 3’180/ton ($393). All of the abovementioned prices exclude taxes. For other products, November prices remain at the level of October’s base prices.
