On March 7, Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) carried out a successful hot run test on its new production line for continuously hot rolled coils, which will be able to produce coils of 6.7 mm thickness.

The hot run test in question comes 18 months after WISCO launched the construction of the HR coil production line on September 8, 2007.

With the new production line, WISCO will add an annual production capacity of 2.5 million mt of hot rolled steel coils of 0.8-12.7 mm thickness and 900-1,600 mm width.
