Columbus, Ohio-based Worthington Industries announced Thursday that its subsidiary Worthington Steel, a flat-rolled steel processor, will expand its operations in Mexico. The steel processing line in Monterrey, Mexico, a joint venture between Worthington Steel and Serviacero, will expand immediately to include a pickling line. The Monterrey facility will have the capacity to process 500,000 net tons (453,595 metric tons) of steel annually.

"We are very pleased to get this expansion underway and begin to offer additional services to our customers in Mexico," said Worthington Chairman and CEO John P. McConnell. "This pickling line, combined with our five other pickling facilities, is a significant expansion of our position as one of the largest independent pickling networks in North America."
