Worldsteel elects new officers for executive board of directors for 2023-24

The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has announced that it has elected new officers and members for its executive board of directors for the 2023-24 period.

Leon Topalian from US-based Nucor Corporation will hold the position of chairman, replacing Sajjan Jindal from Indian steelmaker JSW Steel, while Thachat Viswanath Narendran from India’s Tata Steel and Jeong-Woo Choi from South Korean steel producer POSCO will be vice-chairmen of the board.

Meanwhile, Uğur Dalbeler, CEO of Turkey-based Çolakoğlu Metalürji A.Ş. will continue in his position as a member of the board.
