Workers at Krivorozhstal want domestic buyer

According to recent news in the market, the workers at Ukrainian steel mill Krivorozhstal demand the government to sell the mill to a domestic buyer. As recently reported by SteelOrbis, Russian producer Severstal and Luxembourg based steel producer Arcelor will bid jointly for Krivorozhstal. Moreover, Russian steel maker EvrazHolding plans to participate in Krivorozhstal tender that will take place on June 9, 2004. LNM Holdings and United States Steel Corp are also among the investors expressing their interest in the tender. Meanwhile, leftist deputies in the parliament stated that they will only back domestic buyers in the tender. The initial price for the tender, which covers sale of 93% stake is determined as UAH 3.8 billion ($716 million).
