On January 6, Hubei Province-based Wuhan Iron & Steel Corporation (WISCO) announced its ex-factory prices for February. The details are as follows:
1. HR coils
Prices have increased RMB 400/mt ($59/mt) for SPHC and Q235. After the changes, the price of 2.75 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 3,650/mt ($534/mt), while that of 5.5 mm Q235 HRC is at RMB 3,540/mt ($518/mt).
2. CR coils
Prices have increased RMB 470/mt ($69/mt) for CR sheet of thickness less than 0.5 mm; prices of 0.5-0.7 mm thick CR sheet have risen RMB 345/mt ($51/mt); prices of CR box sheet of 0.8 mm thickness and above are up by RMB 470/mt ($69/mt); finally, prices of CR coils of 0.8 mm thickness and above have gone up by RMB 420/mt ($61/mt). Thus, the price of 1.0 mm Q195 CR sheet is at RMB 4,060/mt ($594/mt), while the price of 1.0 mm Q195 cold rolled coil is now at RMB 4,010/mt ($587/mt).
3. Galvanized coils
Prices have increased by RMB 470/mt ($69/mt). As a result, the new price of 1.0 mm DX51D+Z is RMB 4,193/mt ($614/mt).
4. Wire rod
The prices of common carbon wire rod are up by RMB 120/mt ($18/mt), while the prices of 82B wire rod have increased RMB 300/mt ($44/mt), with a rise of RMB 150/mt ($22/mt) seen for other products.
All the above prices exclude 17 percent VAT and are effective as of January 6, 2009.
