On January 28, Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Co. (WISCO) announced that it has set up a trading office in the Russian capital Moscow after receiving approval from Russia’s justice ministry. Accordingly, the establishment of the new trading office is expected to support WISCO’s expansion in the Russian and eastern European markets as well as increase the influence of the WISCO brand in the global market. Moreover, its Moscow office will help WISCO to obtain more market information and also to source raw materials as Russia has rich iron ore and coking coal resources.
