According to a March 31 speech given by Port of Long Beach Executive Director Richard Steinke, ports should expect an increase in business in 2010, citing recent volume upticks in activity at the Port of Long Beach.

According to one speaker, more than 50,000 Southern Californian jobs were lost in 2009 due to decreased activity. This year's forecasted increase in trade will positively impact the local economy.
