Weiyuan Steel’s high-speed wire rod line starts production

On July 22, Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC) announced that the new high-speed wire rod production line of Sichuan Province-based Chinese steel producer Weiyuan Iron and Steel Co. has commenced production.

The production line in question was constructed by MCC subsidiary China 5th Metallurgical Group. Using equipment supplied by US-based Morgan Construction Co., the rolling speed of the new high-speed wire rod production line can reach as high as 120 m per second. The annual output capacity of the production line is expected to reach 650,000 mt.
